Dear Constituent

For over a year I have been working hard with Councillor Gordon Matheson to ensure that the No.19 bus — a local lifeline for Townhead, stays. This week First bus put on a launch party to mark the return of the service. Many local residents turned out to mark the occasion.

This week I was delighted to Chair a lecture at Glasgow University hosted by Medical Aid for Palestine entitled ‘'Under Fire - Barriers to Health in the Occupied Palestinian Territory'. The event was a great success; special thanks must go to our guest speakers including Dr Rana Khitib of Berzit University and to Professor Graham Watt of Glasgow University, who gave a very insightful presentation highlighting some of the current analysis on the humanitarian crisis which currently exists in the occupied territories.  Such as stunted growth amongst Palestinian children has gone up by 10 % that half of pregnant women lose their babies waiting at check points, despite this the Palestinian population continues to rise from 2.9 million to 3.8 million with more than one third under the age of 10.

Thank you to everyone who made an effort to attend this valuable event. For more information on upcoming MAP events or to donate, please check out the events section of the MAP website

I was delighted to visit the Wing Hong Elderly Centre where I had the opportunity to congratulate Mr Yick Sing Lau, Chairman of the Centre in Glasgow, for his outstanding services in support of the Chinese community in Glasgow and beyond, as the centre celebrates its 20th birthday.

In Glasgow Kelvin, I made use of the parliamentary recess to visit the St Mungo’s Day Centre and the Anderson Curam Centre Lunch Club

Thanks for stopping by.
